Charles Mitchell, who hosted Kiss 104.1’s evening “Slow Jamz” program for nine years, has been let go from the station.
Tony Kidd, vice president of radio programming for Cox Media Group, dubbed it a “staff rearrangement” and promised “a replacement is coming.”
Mitchell, in an interview, said he is okay and looking for new work. “It’s all good,” he said. “I harbor no ill will. I thank them for the time I was there. I love Atlanta and hope to stay here.”
Prior to Kiss, Mitchell worked in radio in Miami with Kidd and also got to spend several years at the legendary R&B station WBLS-FM in New York City.
