News 95.5 and AM 750 WSB is the city’s most popular station by a wide margin this year, pulling in its best ratings in recent history.

So it shouldn’t come as a shock that its annual fundraiser for Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta pulled in a record $1,750,000 last month over 37 hours. That’s up from $1.536 million last year. The previous record was $1.6 million in 2014.

You can give any time here.

Over 17 years, the radio station has raised more than $20 million for the organization, which helps children suffering from cancers such as leukemia and blood disorders such as hemophilia.

Among the radio personalities who took part included Scott Slade, Clark Howard, Herman Cain, Erick Erickson, Eric Von Haessler and Mark Arum, plus the annual return of Neal Boortz. Matt Ryan, quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons, popped in as usual as well.

WSB Radio and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution are both part of Cox Media Group.
